Reduce - Reuse - Recycle

Glass jars are fully reusable

your 8 oz candle jar becomes:

  • a jar for your breakfast muesli and fruit, a container for snacks, a jar of individual soups, etc.
  • A small vase for garden flowers
  • a pot for storing nails in the garage
  • a jar for loose candies
  • a decorative pot for crayons
  • a pot to cast a new candle! We can do it for you!

Tips for using the
candle

Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

When lighting a candle, melt the entire surface to prevent it from tunnelling in the wax. This will prolong the life of the candle.

Maintain the wick between each lighting by trimming it to 1/4 inch (wood wicks to 1/8 inch). This will prevent the candle from curling, form a soot fungus (on organic cotton wicks) and the wax will stay cleaner. You can use our wick cutter, a pair of scissors or even your fingers to clean the wick before lighting it. For crackling wood wicks, the same rule applies. The wick does not need to be long in order to maintain combustion.

Why soy wax

Unlike paraffin wax, soy wax is 100% natural and plant-derived. Paraffin wax is a petroleum-based wax and can contain agents that are toxic to health. Soy wax naturally releases less soot and is less harmful to people's health. Soy wax also has the quality of being consumed less quickly. Its low and slow combustion allows it to burn for longer than paraffin.

In addition, soy has an advantage in terms of aesthetics. It allows us to obtain a smooth and white candle with a nice creamy texture that adheres well to glass and metal containers. We create beautiful pure colors if we add a natural dye, whereas beeswax (for example) would have a yellowish hue.

For the benefits of perfumery, we use natural fragrances and this wax has the ability to retain the aromas and to perfume your room perfectly without creating overpowering fragrances, as can often happen with other brands.

Glass recycling, reuse and refills

Glass is not yet fully recycled in Quebec as it is in Europe. Efforts are being made, somewhat belatedly, to avoid landfill, which is unfortunately currently the practice in most municipalities.

That's why we offer our customers several options for reusing our containers.

Our wood and cotton wicks

We have tested dozens of wicks from many suppliers, all of whom are Canadian. Our choice for our wood wicks, is FSC certified fruit tree wood.

We recommend trimming the wick to 1/8 inch between each lighting of the candle and removing the ash accumulation at the end of the wick.

For our organic cotton wicks, they are natural and produce a clean combustion (no soot) without health risks. It is advisable to trim the wick to 1/4 of an inch before relighting it (for each use).

For both types of wicks, we recommend not burning the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

Safety tips

Make sure the entire surface of the wax has melted completely to avoid tunnelling and to extend the life of your candle. Keep the candle on a stable, flat surface that is heat resistant. Never leave the candle unattended and keep it away from flammable materials, under special supervision if you have pets or children. Make sure that wick debris or ash is not in the liquid wax, as these could discolor the wax and alter the fragrance. Do not move the candle when it is lit or liquid.

Our drying bales

We recommend using a minimum of 3 balls per drying load. Apply 1-2 drops of fragrance on each ball, about 10 minutes before starting the cycle. The balls reduce static, reduce drying time by 25%, are natural and can do up to 1000 loads of drying.

Turkish cotton towel

Our luxury towels are a must-have in your daily life. They are perfect for taking to the cottage, camping, the beach or just using as a bath towel. In addition to being very absorbent (it can absorb up to 7 times its weight in liquid!), they are compact and take up little space in your suitcase.

We do not recommend putting the towel in the dryer. Once hung, it will dry very quickly. The more you wash it, the more its colors will shine. Ironing can also be a good way to bring back its colors. It is recommended to wash in cold water.

If your towel becomes less absorbent, soak it for a few minutes in a mixture of water and vinegar before putting it in the washer.
