As you may have noticed, most of our natural soy candles come in a glass jar with a lid. Did you know that clear glass is easier to process during the glass recycling process at a glass recycling facility? Brown (amber), blue, or green glass, on the other hand, requires a longer and more energy-intensive recycling process. This is one of the reasons why we chose this clear jar for our candles.
But did you also know that glass is still not properly recycled in Quebec and often ends up in landfills? This remains a major problem, as many municipalities in Quebec do not have a properly established recycling sorting and processing system.
So we chose food-grade jars for our candles to give them a second life once you’ve finished enjoying your soy candle. You can remove the remaining wax, take out the wick, and simply put the jar and its lid through the dishwasher cycle—and now you have a nice jar for preparing small snacks or storing small items to help you stay organized (in the kitchen, garage, or office!).

Candle makers often use the color of the glass to hide imperfections in soy wax. While soy wax is natural, it can sometimes develop a frosty appearance or small air pockets on the sides, which isn’t very attractive. However, since soy wax is clearly a better choice for your health and burns much more slowly than paraffin wax (which, by the way, is a petroleum derivative), we’ve made the best choices to ensure the superior quality of our soy candles.
Now, enjoy! There’s no season like spring for enjoying a candle. Discover our spring fragrances, such as peony, Sicilian sweet pea, and lavender.
